"America The Beautiful" song question?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under liberate lyrics | 1 Comment »

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare of freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for halcyon skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the enameled plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till souls wax fair as earth and air
And music-hearted sea!

O beautiful for pilgrims feet,
Whose stem impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till paths be wrought through
wilds of thought
By pilgrim foot and knee!

O beautiful for glory-tale
Of liberating strife
When once and twice,
for man’s avail
Men lavished precious life!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till selfish gain no longer stain
The banner of the free!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till nobler men keep once again
Thy whiter jubilee!

I want to know any geography facts from the lyrics of that song. If somebody could list 6 or 7 geography facts please please tell me.
Or any facts you know, 10 points for best answer.
Please Help, thank you for reading, I appreciate answers very much.

By Geography facts your teacher is probably wanting you to correlate geography verses in the song with actual parts of America. I will not give you the full 6 or 7 you asked for because your teacher wants you to learn about the United States of America and how this song represents it.

I will get you started. "O beautiful for spacious skies" is a reference
to 50 beautiful states and the skyline over them. Think how big those fifty states are in comparison to the provinces in European countries.

"For amber waves of grain" refers to the farming states. Many countries have to buy their grain and farm stuffs from other countries. Wisconsin’s nickname is "America’s dairy land".States like Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois are referred to as America’s Bread Basket.

There are lots more Geography facts in the song. Just pick out the verses that talk about geography and then think about what that verse is trying to tell you about a part of America and why you should be proud to live here.

ok my guitar is on standard tuning and i wanna play a song that is Db tuning will it sound like shit?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under disturbed liberate | 1 Comment »

btw song is called liberate by disturbed

It won’t sound like shit if you play the notes on the low e strings 3 frets higher. People usually tune their guitar to that tuning so they don’t have to make the power chord shape with the first and third finger but with just one finger. You could also just look for tabs for that song in standard tuning.

what does liberate mean?

im listening to liberate by slipknot and he’s liberate my madness

my fifty cent dictionary says: to free from slavery; to release from an enemy.
also used with woman’s rights – to release from oppression.

Yes, you could loos-ten a slipknot and make life more bearable.
I suppose madness could be considered a form of slavery in
that it is something forced on a person by circumstances.
Liberation from insane ideas could come about through
therapy and other treatments, or maybe just education.
Much that seems madness is just lack of education.

The beginning was alot of Instruments, and a Liberated Praise
dance team, danced to it.

some of the Lyrics are:

Any idea who sings this song would really be helpful!

“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” – Robert Louis Stevenson
Studying abroad will liberate my mind from the prism of American chauvinism. The exposure and experiences I will garner studying abroad will allow me to grow as an Independent thinker.
I have never left the United States. My morals, customs, ethics and ideologies are all reinforced by American culture. My morals can be found in books from American writers such as Toni Morrison, Jonathan Kozol, and James Baldwin. My daily customs telecasted on MTV in documentary format also known as “reality shows”. My ethics parallel to comedians Bill Mahr and Jon Stewart. My ideologies are reflected on blogging sites such as the Huffington Post. I feel secluded to an extent. Never leaving this country has trapped me in this box of liberal conformity. It is time for me to step out of comfort zone and into a place of unfamiliarity.
Living in another country gives me an opportunity to explore not only a foreign land but myself as a human being. Studying abroad will broaden my horizons. It will allow me to reevaluate the way I see the world. This is crucial for a better understanding of the ambiguous. What is normal? What is respect? What is beauty? What is art? What is justice? What is rational? These questions sound simple but are very complex. For instance, a hermit could never answer these questions. Their worlds are too predicated on conventionality. Their definition of beauty, art, respect, and justice are completely subjective to their immediate environment, and is therefore inadequate. Having a more objective view on life will allow me to have a better appreciation for life.
Spain is the ideal place to study abroad. Its deep history, sophisticated culture, and most importantly great food, allows it to stand hand and knees over other countries in Europe. I plan on living it up in Spain. Just thinking about the Seville Cathedral and its creative Gothic design as well as its deep roots in Catholicism sends chills down my spine. Witnessing the bravery, heart, and excitement of bullfighting will be exhilarating. The Flamenco is the most fascinating part of Spanish Culture. Everything from the dance, the harmonics to the singing intrigues me.
Going to college it is not just about learning out of book but also learning through experiences. Studying abroad is one of the few learning experiences college student have that will stick with them for the rest of their lives. Traveling broadens the mind. It allows students to experience other ways of living and thinking that will enrich them as human beings.

Reads like a poet trying to capture essence into a form ill suited. Too much metaphor, watch verb tense (will give rather than gives). Simple sentences at the beginning are choppy and a bit annoying.

SLIPKNOT: Eeyore
It’s a freaking heavy song. It was hard to pick since the whole Slipknot album was great, but this one tops it, along with Eyeless.

IOWA: Everything Ends
Come on. Just the first few lines are already amazing.

VOL. 3: Circle
Sure, it’s acoustic, but they did pretty good. I was surprised to hear this.

ALL HOPE IS GONE: .execute.
Beautiful way to start off the album. It’s deep, and it gets you to think.

What are some reasons why you like classic rock?

Posted by admin on March 7th, 2010 and filed under liberate lyrics | 5 Comments »

I like how the lyrics are very liberated.
I like how bands didn’t have to be commercial yet be successful.
I like how the sounds weren’t polished and but had a rough around the edges sound.
I like the psychedelic music where everything came from their imagination.
I like how they didn’t use autotune or any synthesizers but actually have talent to play an instrument.
I like how bands wrote their own songs and not have some songwriter write for them.

mostly because they weren’t playing for the money. they weren’t controlled as much by record companies and played what they wanted.

Wack Rappers Excuses?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under liberate lyrics | 5 Comments »

1)This ain’t the 80s no more, all that stuff is old. No body does that anymore. Ok this excuse has been used by too many groupies and fans of these artist. Skill is skill taking the time to improve as an emcee and connecting with the people is a must in hip hop no matter what age you are if you want to use that then why is it that people still bang micheal’s old stuff even in this day and age its not because its just old but that he made good music the same with rakim, krs, 2pac, biggie, outkast, or any dope emcee then and now has done.

2)everyone doesnt have to have good lyrics. The most stupid thing I have ever heard people say. so your saying that you just listen to anything that seems pleasing to others. the artist should always atempt to differenciate themselfs and improve their writting. Its like its said before if your message aint shit then fuck the records you sold if you go platnum its got nothing to do with luck it just means a million people are stupid as fuck. maybe some of these wack rappers need to think about this

3)its all about the beat. again and again you hear the same thing that its all about the beat though it is important to have a good production it wont sound right if what is said dont sound right. would you still listen to a gucci song without a beat to it and it would still sound good.

4)im just the ghetto reporter. im the ghetto reporter. they say this same thing to get people out of their case. they say they just telling what goes on in the hood when they actually dont really even connect anymore to their neighborhood if they at all lived in the hood. they could really care less for their supporters

5)calling someone a hater. this is the most overused word that i have heard used. just like love i wonder if people even know the meaning sometimes. just because we decide to give our opinion that we dont think you got tight rhymes doesnt mean we hate on your cash flow we just want to hear more variaty. if you think that skill equals cash then you need to reevaulate the meaning of an emcee

6)thinking that you’re dope just because you have Lil Wayne-esque punchlines. just because you can do a couple of punchlines like lil wayne(overrated in my opinion) doesnt mean you are one of the top best out. find your own style to use instead

7)"Homie, let the public decide." That doesn’t mean the public of dope hiphop, but the public that determines sales so its more so on popularity and not in their skills.

8)That’s dope but… my fans wouldn’t understand it". That refers to how rappers think they have to make the same types of songs with the same subject throughout their career. If they started as a gangsta rapper, then they’ll always be a gangsta rapper, even if they don’t live that life

9)This is what they want." Sort of an excuse that allows them to make songs to sellout and not be individuals and follow what they are told to put out.

10)How are you going to tell me what’s dope? You don’t even listen to the radio. ((That’s for those folks who seriously believe that the Billboard charts and Grammys showcase the greatest of hip-hop))
these guys couldnt even tell you the simple things about hip hop i saw a video of oj da juiceman taking a hip hop quiz and couldnt even get simple stuff that even lil wayne would have at least got. pop charts dont make you dope neither do grammys its what you put into your work rakim or lupe probably would not get many grammys but at least you know they put quality in everywork they do.

so these are ten more excuses that are made by wack rappers. they are given no critic as long as they are getting paid but whats wrong with wanting artist to improve their craft there is no hate for making money but as said by WEB du bois a society built on making money makers will not make men but through education can they be liberated. so this is my thought please comment and give your thoughts
im just looking at some of these answers i dont see how these dudes think im a hater i just came to state my thoughts. im just stating what i feel needs to be said im sorry if this affends you (not). what happened to stating a thought but thats why and whats with all the childish insults and talk about the damn topic
my just seen yours duff and i see your point that most wont comprehend that sadly smh but that is the state of things today

You seriously sound like an epic Hater. LOL. I agree to an extent, but honestly the people who support BAD music are too dumb to even comprehend this. Actually, I’ll bet my balls that they can’t even read past a 4th grade level.
